Before installation, conduct a thorough inspection of your chimney pot to ensure there are no cracks, cracks or debris. Confirm that the cement flaunching is intact and the pot is securely fitted. Clean the inside top and joint face to remove any blockages. When ready, prepare a mortar mix with a brick-coloured dye to match your chimney aesthetics. Apply a neat bead of mortar on the top face of the chimney pot, then carefully insert the cowl’s spigot. Press it gently onto the mortar joint, ensuring the terminal remains vertical. Remove any excess mortar and smooth out the joint to facilitate efficient rainwater run-off. Take care to follow safety guidelines and manufacturer recommendations during the installation process.

A Mushroom Chimney Cowl is used to cap off redundant chimney pots while allowing ventilation to the chimney stack, protecting against rain entry and animal intrusion.

Ensure the existing chimney is free from cracks and debris. Check that the cement flaunching is sound and the pot is securely fixed. Clean both the inside top and joint face of the pot before installation.

Ventilation prevents moisture build-up, which can cause structural damage or dampness within the chimney stack and surrounding masonry.

Use mortar mixed with a brick-coloured dye to ensure a seamless and aesthetically pleasing installation. Apply a bead of this mortar to the top face of the pot.

After inserting the spigot into the pot, ensure that the terminal is vertical. Press lightly onto the mortar joint and trim off any excess. Smooth the mortar and taper it so rainwater can run off smoothly.
