When fitting, ensure the pot is undamaged and compatible with your flue system and type of fire.
Always inspect the chimney stack for cracks and repair any defective mortar pointing. Additionally, confirm that the flue lining is intact and free from obstructions. Proper installation involves using insulating material between the flue liner and chimney stack, and a damp proof course should be placed below the top layer of brickwork for optimal functionality.
The chimney stack should be completed with a flat top to ensure stable placement of the pot.
