The Straight Roll Top 900mm Buff chimney pot is ideal for both new and replacement installations, providing optimal performance and safety for solid fuel fires. Approved Document J guidelines apply to ensure the correct height and position of the flue terminal. This UK-manufactured chimney pot must be securely affixed to a masonry chimney stack, positioned over the flue liner, allowing for the efficient conveyance of combustion gases into the atmosphere.
Ensure that the chimney pot is undamaged and compatible with your flue system. Inspections for cracks in the chimney stack and repairs for defective mortar pointing are essential. Verify that the flue lining is intact and clear of debris, and clean any mortar ingress to guarantee smooth passage for flue gases and easy sweeping.
Install a damp proof course below the top brick layer, and fill the space between the flue liner and chimney stack with insulating material like weak lime mortar or lightweight vermiculite insulating cement. To cap it off, ensure the chimney stack top is flat.
