The Straight Roll Top 300mm Chimney Pot in Buff is the perfect solution for new and replacement installations. Approved Document J applies when fitting this flue terminal in terms of height and position. Using a chimney pot is pivotal for achieving superior chimney performance; terminating the chimney with only mortar flaunching is not advisable.
Ensure the pot is undamaged and compatible with the flue system and type of fire. Always inspect the chimney stack for any cracks and repair any defective mortar pointing. Confirm that the flue lining is sound and clear of debris.
Remove any mortar ingress to facilitate a smooth passage for flue gases and for easy sweeping. Ensure a damp proof course is installed below the top brickwork layer. Fill the space between the flue liner and chimney stack with insulating materials like weak lime mortar or vermiculite cement, and make sure the chimney stack top is flat.
