The VIT-Smooth 1000mm Starter Pipe (Ø 150mm) is expertly designed for connecting gas, oil, and solid fuel appliances with temperatures up to 600°C. Crafted from zero carbon steel and finished with a powder vitreous enamel coating in matt black, this pipe not only excels in functionality but also adds a seamless and modern aesthetic to your heating system. The VIT-Smooth pipe is designed to connect your appliance to a Flue Liner, Chimney Stack, or Twin Wall Flue System.
Please note, it is not suitable for passage through ceilings or combustible walls.### ConstructionThe VIT-Smooth pipe features a single skin construction made from high-quality zero carbon steel, ensuring durability and longevity. The powder enamel matt black finish not only provides a sleek look but also enhances the pipe's resistance to heat and wear.### InstallationWhen installing the VIT-Smooth pipe, ensure it is at least 375mm away from any combustible materials like wood or plasterboard. The pipe must be fitted with the smaller diameter pointing downward to keep any condensates within the flue system.
The VIT-Smooth pipe uses a friction-fit joint, so sealing is not mandatory, though you may use high-temperature silicone sealant or fire cement for extra security. Remember to cover any exposed steel with high-temperature paint to prevent rust.### MaintenanceRegular inspection and cleaning are crucial, especially for solid fuel applications. This can be easily managed by installing a VIT-Smooth pipe with an access door at changes of direction.
For solid fuel appliances, annual sweeping and maintenance are recommended to ensure optimal performance and safety.
