The London Gather 9 x 6 inch - Ø 180 is an essential component in any high-quality chimney system. Specifically engineered for compatibility with Mi-Flex 316 and 904 flexible flue liners, this gather hood facilitates the smooth transition from an open fireplace to a flexible flue liner. When adhering to Building Regulations Document J, this gather hood is crucial for ensuring the system is fully enclosed within a masonry chimney, as non-masonry enclosures are not permitted.
Suitable for use with multiple fuel types, including wood (with less than 20% moisture), smokeless coal, gas, and oil, it can withstand temperatures up to 600°C (T600 designation). The bottom fixing is designed to securely connect within the masonry chimney, using fire cement, ceramic rope, tape, or high-temperature sealant to ensure a gas-tight seal. Regular maintenance is key, and the system should be swept by a competent person at least once a year, or twice for solid fuel applications, to avoid blockages or deposit build-ups.
Always use appropriate tools and avoid chemical cleaners to maintain the integrity of the system.
