The bottom fixing is designed to securely connect within the masonry chimney, using fire cement, ceramic rope, tape, or high-temperature sealant to ensure a gas-tight seal. Regular maintenance is key, and the system should be swept by a competent person at least once a year, or twice for solid fuel applications, to avoid blockages or deposit build-ups.
