Creating a secure and efficient connection between the flue liner and open fireplace, this gather hood ensures optimal gas flow, directing it safely up the chimney. Compliant with Building Regulations Document J, this gather hood is suitable for use with appliances reaching temperatures up to 600°C, including those burning wood with less than 20% moisture, smokeless coal, gas, and oil.

For best results, pair it with bottom fixings to create a gas-tight seal with fire cement, ceramic rope, or high-temperature sealant. Ensure your chimney system allows for easy sweeping and maintenance, with cleaning recommended twice a year for solid fuel appliances.

Begin by positioning the gather hood at the base of your masonry chimney. • Ensure that the chimney system has been designed to allow for easy sweeping and maintenance access. • Attach the gather hood using the provided adaptor to connect the flexible flue liner securely. • For a gas-tight seal, use bottom fixings combined with high-temperature sealants such as fire cement, ceramic rope, or tape. • It is important that the installation complies with the Building Regulations Document J, ensuring full enclosure within a masonry structure. • Always verify that your appliance operates within the recommended temperature limit of up to 600°C. • Regular cleaning, at least twice a year for solid fuel applications, is recommended to maintain efficiency and safety.
