The London Gather 9 x 12 inch - Ø 180 is an essential fitting designed specifically for use with Mi-Flex 316 and 904 flexible flue liners, creating a complete chimney system. Ideal for wood with less than 20% moisture, smokeless coal, gas, and oil appliances up to 600°C (T600 designation), this gather hood makes the transitional change from the fireplace opening to the flexible flue liner seamless. It ensures that the connection to the flex remains within the confines of your existing masonry chimney, ensuring no flex is visible.
The use of fire cement, ceramic rope, or high-temperature sealant is advised for a gas-tight seal. For the best performance, the system must be easy to sweep and maintain, preferably by a HETAS registered sweep. Chemical cleaners or mild steel tools should never be used for cleaning stainless steel chimneys.
Annual cleaning and inspection are recommended, with biannual sweeping for chimneys serving solid fuel appliances.
