It's suitable for use with gas, oil, and solid fuel appliances capable of reaching temperatures up to 600°. Constructed from zero carbon steel and coated with a durable powder vitreous enamel in a sleek matt black finish, this elbow is both robust and stylish.
However, it is important to note that VIT-Smooth pipes are not designed to pass through ceilings or combustible walls. Installation requires that the smaller diameter points downward to keep condensates within the system. While the friction fit joint negates the need for sealants, adding a jointing compound can provide extra security.
Always maintain a safe distance from combustible materials and apply high-temperature paint to any cut edges to prevent rust. Regular inspection and cleaning, ideally once a year or more frequently for solid fuel applications, are essential for optimal performance and longevity.
