The MI-FLEX Pot Hanging Cowl (Black) Ø 150 is an essential component designed meticulously to offer optimal performance and longevity in your chimney system. This versatile piece is compatible with both MI-FLEX 316 and 904 flexible flue liners, ensuring a comprehensive and effective chimney solution. Complying with the latest BSEN standards, it features an integrated rain cap and bird guard which not only facilitate the installation process by allowing the chimney liner to be fitted without removing the pot, but also provide additional protection against rain and avian nuisances. This pot hanging cowl is ideal for use with multi-fuel flexible flue liners and is suitable for a variety of fuels including wood with less than 20% moisture, smokeless coal, gas, and oil.

Rated for appliances up to 600°C, it meets stringent Building Regulations Document J, which mandates that flexible flue liners must be entirely enclosed within a masonry chimney to ensure safety and durability. The cowl supports the vertical weight of the flue liner within the chimney pot, which must be in pristine condition, free from cracks, and adequately flaunted at the stack’s top.For ease of use, it is secured using the standard jubilee fixing method, and to ensure longevity and peak performance, regular maintenance is recommended. It is crucial to design the chimney system to allow easy access for sweeping and maintenance to comply with safety standards.

Professional chimney sweeping should be done at least annually, but for solid fuel applications, twice a year is advisable: once at the end of the heating season to clear any deposits and again at the start of the next to check for any blockages.
