The Gather Hood Medium (300x300) - Ø 200 is an essential component for creating an efficient and safe chimney system. Designed to work seamlessly with MI-FLEX 316 and 904 flexible flue liners, this gather hood ensures the optimal flow of gases from an open fireplace up the chimney. According to Building Regulations Document J, flexible flue liners must be installed entirely within a masonry chimney, and this gather hood adheres to these requirements, ensuring a secure fit.

Suitable for use on appliances up to 600°C (T600 designation), it can be used with fuels like wood (with less than 20% moisture), smokeless coal, gas, and oil.Bottom fixings are included to ensure a secure transition from the connecting flue system to the flexible flue liner. For optimal safety and performance, connections should be made inside the existing masonry chimney, with no flexible liner visible. It is advisable to secure the fixings using fire cement, ceramic rope, or high-temperature sealant to achieve a gas-tight seal.This gather hood creates a larger area for gas flow, facilitating the smooth passage of gases through the chimney liner.

The hood comes with an adaptor to connect the flexible flue liner, and it's secured by folding its metal flaps at right angles and fastening them into the brickwork. Maintenance is straightforward as the system allows easy access for sweeping and inspection. Regular cleaning and maintenance, particularly of solid fuel appliances, are vital to ensure safety and efficiency, with HETAS-registered sweeps recommended.
