The Gather Hood Large (300x400) - Ø 200 from our MI-FLEX family of accessories is the ideal installation component for use with MI-FLEX 316 and 904 flexible flue liners. Designed to create a comprehensive chimney system, this gather hood is perfect for handling gases from open fireplaces, ensuring they flow efficiently up through the chimney liner. It is crucially fitted with an adaptor to facilitate attachment to the flexible flue liner securely.Compliance with Building Regulations Document J is assured, necessitating that flexible flue liners are fully enclosed within a masonry chimney – a non-masonry enclosure, like timber or plasterboard boxing, is strictly prohibited.

Suitable for systems reaching up to 600°C (T600 designation), the gather hood is versatile, supporting fuels such as wood with less than 20% moisture, smokeless coal, gas, and oil.Installed at the chimney base and extending up to the chimney chamber's top, the metal flaps of the gather hood are designed to be folded at right angles and screwed into the brickwork, ensuring stability and safety. Additionally, bottom fixings help transition from the connecting flue system to the flexible flue liner, establishing a gas-tight seal and requiring secure fittings with fire cement, ceramic rope, or high-temperature sealant.
