Remember, VIT-Smooth connecting pipes should only be used between your appliance and flue liner, chimney stack, or twin wall flue system, and not through ceilings or combustible walls.Installation is straightforward, but a few precautions must be observed. Ensure the adaptor is not placed within 375mm of combustible materials like wood or plasterboard. Always install it the correct way up, with the smaller diameter pointing downward to prevent condensate from escaping.

While the friction-fit joints don’t require sealing, you can apply a jointing compound for added security and to maintain the sleek appearance. VIT-Smooth components can be cut to size as needed; just make sure to treat any exposed steel with high-temperature paint to prevent rust.For maintenance, you should include provisions for inspecting and cleaning the chimney, especially for solid fuel applications. This can be done by incorporating VIT-Smooth pipes with access doors at directional changes.
