The VIT-Smooth Increaser Ø 150-175mm is a pivotal component for any efficient flue system. Designed for gas, oil, and solid fuel appliances with temperatures up to 600°C, this increaser ensures a smooth transition between different flue diameters. Constructed from zero carbon steel and coated with a durable powder vitreous enamel in a sleek matt black finish, it is engineered to last.
This single-skin connecting pipe is specifically for connecting your appliance to a Flue Liner, Chimney Stack, or Twin Wall Flue System and should not pass through ceilings or combustible walls.Installation is straightforward, but it's vital to maintain a safe distance of 375mm from any combustible materials. Ensure the VIT-Smooth is installed with the smaller diameter pointing downward to keep condensates within the system. While the friction-fit joints don’t require sealing, using a jointing compound like fire cement or high temperature silicone sealant can provide added security.
For a clean cut, remember to cover any exposed steel with high-temperature paint to prevent rusting. Always wear appropriate PPE during installation.Maintenance is essential, particularly for solid fuel appliances. VIT-Smooth pipes can be outfitted with access doors at directional changes for easy inspection and cleaning.
Regular chimney sweeping is recommended, at least once a year, to ensure optimal performance.
