The VIT-Smooth 45°/135° Elbow Ø 125mm is a premium connecting pipe designed for gas, oil, and solid fuel appliances that reach temperatures up to 600°C. Constructed from zero-carbon steel with a powder vitreous enamel coating, it boasts a sleek matt black finish. This single-skin flue segment is exclusively intended for use as a connecting pipe between your appliance and the flue liner, chimney stack, or twin wall flue system.
It's essential to note that VIT-Smooth pipes should not pass through ceilings or combustible walls.For optimal installation, maintain a minimum distance of 375mm from any combustible materials. Ensure the smaller diameter is always pointing downward to prevent condensate from escaping the flue system. Though VIT-Smooth features friction fit joints that don't require sealing, jointing compounds like fire cement or high-temperature silicone sealant can be used for extra security.
The pipes can be cut to size, but any exposed steel must be covered with high-temperature paint to prevent rusting over time. PPE is essential during installation to maintain safety. For maintenance, particularly in solid fuel applications, install an access door at changes of direction to facilitate chimney inspection and cleaning.
