The MI-FLEX Support Pot Hanging Cowl (Natural) - Ø 200 - Ø 200 is an essential component for those using MI-FLEX 316 and 904 flexible flue liners. This expertly crafted cowl ensures your chimney system is fully compliant and operates efficiently. It's specifically designed to take the vertical weight of the flue liner and is suitable for use with a variety of fuels, including wood (with less than 20% moisture), smokeless coal, gas, and oil.

It withstands temperatures up to 600°C (T600 designation). Ensuring compliance with Building Regulations Document J, it allows for safe operation when the flue liner is enclosed within masonry chimneys. The integrated rain cap and bird guard protect against water ingress and bird entry, adding to the system’s longevity and efficiency.

When installing, ensure the chimney pot is in excellent condition, free from cracks, with proper flaunching at the stack's top. For maintenance, it is crucial to have a competent person sweep the chimney at least once a year, ideally twice if using solid fuel. Remember, never use chemical cleaners or mild steel tools on stainless steel chimneys.

While it's possible to install it yourself, it’s recommended to have a professional install it to ensure it meets all safety standards and regulations.

For solid fuel applications, it's recommended to sweep the chimney at least twice a year, particularly at the end and the start of the heating season. For other fuels, an annual sweep should suffice.

The integrated rain cap and bird guard help prevent water from entering the flue, which could cause damage or lead to efficiency issues. The bird guard also keeps birds from nesting inside the flue.

Document J stipulates that a flexible flue liner must be completely enclosed within a masonry chimney; non-masonry enclosures like timber or plasterboard boxing are not acceptable.
