The VIT-Smooth Stove Adaptor - Ø 125mm is a high-quality connecting pipe designed for use with gas, oil, and solid fuel appliances that reach temperatures up to 600°C. This robust single-skin system, constructed from zero-carbon steel, features a durable powder vitreous enamel coating in a sleek matt black finish. It is essential for linking your appliance to a Flue Liner, Chimney Stack, or Twin Wall Flue System.
Please note that the VIT-Smooth pipe is not suitable for penetrating ceilings or combustible walls.When installing, ensure that no part of the VIT-Smooth pipe is within 375mm of combustible materials such as wood or plasterboard. Proper orientation is crucial: the smaller diameter must point downwards to keep condensates inside the flue system. The friction-fit design requires no joint sealing, but for added security, joints can be treated with fire cement or high-temperature silicone sealant.
VIT-Smooth pipes can be cut to size, but any exposed steel should be painted with high-temperature paint to prevent rusting. Always wear appropriate PPE during installation.For routine maintenance, chimney inspection and cleaning are necessary, especially for solid fuel applications. Integrating VIT-Smooth pipes with access doors at direction changes can facilitate this.
Regular sweeping is recommended at least once per year to maintain performance.
