It's important to note that the VIT-Smooth pipe is only suitable for use as a connecting pipe and should not be used to pass through ceilings or combustible walls.

Installation should position the smaller diameter of the pipe downward to retain condensates within the system. While the pipe's friction fit joints generally don't require sealing, you can add jointing compound for extra security. The pipe can be cut to size, but it's crucial to cover any exposed steel with high-temperature paint to prevent rust.

Maintenance is straightforward, with provisions available for cleaning and inspection, especially for solid fuel applications. Chimneys should be swept at least annually to ensure optimal performance.
