The Rain Cap - Ø 125 from National Flues is meticulously designed to offer unparalleled rain protection at the top of your chimney stack. This robust accessory is part of the MF20 MI-FLEX range, perfectly compatible with MI-FLEX 316 and 904 flexible flue liners. It ensures a complete, efficient chimney system when used in conjunction with other MI-FLEX accessories.Primarily, this rain cap works to prevent water, vermin, and birds from entering your chimney, protecting the interior system and promoting efficiency.

According to Building Regulations Document J, a flexible flue liner must be fully enclosed within a masonry chimney, making this rain cap essential for maintaining system integrity.Suitable for a variety of fuel types including wood (with less than 20% moisture), smokeless coal, gas, and oil, this rain cap is designed for use with appliances operating up to 600°C (T600 designation). Ensure your chimney structure is sound, and chimney pots are in good condition for optimal results. For effective installation, the rain cap should be used with a top plate and clamp—no insert is required. Additionally, it supports the vertical weight of the flue liner and ensures that any excess water does not seep back into the appliance, thereby protecting it from potential damage.Maintenance of the chimney system should be straightforward, allowing easy access for sweeping by a competent person.

For solid fuel applications, chimneys should be inspected and swept at least twice a year, preferably by a HETAS registered sweep. Regular upkeep prevents blockages and deposits, ensuring longevity and efficiency of the chimney.
