The VIT-Smooth GLOSS 90° Tee and Cap M/F - Ø 100mm is an essential component for connecting flues to the rear outlets of appliances. Manufactured from zero-carbon steel, it boasts a durable powder vitreous enamel coating in a sleek gloss black finish that can withstand temperatures up to 600°C. This product is versatile and compatible with gas, oil, and solid fuel appliances, ensuring seamless integration with your existing flue system.When installing, ensure that the VIT-Smooth is placed the correct way up—smaller diameter pointing downwards—to keep condensates inside the flue system.
It’s a friction-fit joint that doesn’t require joint sealing. However, for added security, you may use a jointing compound such as fire cement or high-temperature silicone sealant. This approach prevents condensate leaks and maintains the pipe’s appearance.
Additionally, VIT-Smooth pipes are designed for easy cutting; just make sure to coat any exposed steel with high-temperature paint to prevent rust.Proper maintenance is paramount, especially with solid fuel systems. Provisions should be made for chimney inspection and cleaning, ideally with the inclusion of access doors at direction changes. Regular sweeping, at least annually, is recommended for optimal performance.
