It’s a friction-fit joint that doesn’t require joint sealing. However, for added security, you may use a jointing compound such as fire cement or high-temperature silicone sealant. This approach prevents condensate leaks and maintains the pipe’s appearance.
Additionally, VIT-Smooth pipes are designed for easy cutting; just make sure to coat any exposed steel with high-temperature paint to prevent rust.Proper maintenance is paramount, especially with solid fuel systems.
