The VIT-Smooth 250mm Pipe Ø 200mm is designed to provide a secure and efficient connection between your heating appliance and your flue liner, chimney stack, or twin wall flue system. Constructed from zero carbon steel with a robust powder vitreous enamel coating in a sleek matt black finish, this single skin connecting pipe is perfect for gas, oil, and solid fuel appliances operating at temperatures up to 600°C. It is essential to note that the VIT-Smooth pipe should not be used to pass through ceilings or combustible walls due to safety regulations.When installing the VIT-Smooth pipe, ensure it is positioned correctly, with the smaller diameter pointing downward to contain condensates within the system.
The friction-fit joint design eliminates the need for sealing, though fire cement or high-temperature silicone sealant can be used for added security. For installations, make sure no part of the pipe is within 375mm of combustible materials. Wear appropriate PPE and use high-temperature paint to cover any exposed steel after cutting to prevent rust.Proper maintenance is crucial, particularly for solid fuel applications.
Installing VIT-Smooth pipes with access doors at directional changes allows for easier inspection and cleaning. Sweeping and maintaining chimneys serving solid fuel appliances should be done at least once a year.
