This gather hood is an essential component for constructing a complete chimney system, ensuring efficient gas flow from your fireplace through the flue liner. Perfectly designed for use with multi-fuel flexible flue liners, the London Gather meets all of the requirements specified in Building Regulations Document J.

This states that flexible flue liners must be fully enclosed within a masonry chimney, making timber or plasterboard enclosures inadequate.Ideal for appliances operating up to 600°C (T600 designation), the London Gather is suitable for use with various fuels, including wood with less than 20% moisture, smokeless coal, gas, and oil. When installing, the gather hood makes a transitional change from the wider fireplace opening to the narrower flexible flue liner, ensuring no exposed flue liner is visible. Secure it with fire cement, ceramic rope, tape, or high-temperature sealant for a reliable, gas-tight seal.The gather hood also accommodates easy sweeping and maintenance.

Cleaning should be conducted at least once a year by a competent person, and for solid fuel applications, HETAS registered sweeps are recommended. Annual inspections are critical to remove any blockages or deposits, particularly post and pre-heating seasons. This ensures your chimney system remains in optimal condition, preventing hazards like bird’s nests from causing blockages.
