Following this, apply an acid-resistant cement as a sealant and a weatherproof render over the clamp plate. Finish by covering up to the bottom holes of the terminal. To ensure optimal performance and safety, it's advised to sweep and maintain chimneys connected to gas and oil appliances at least once a year.
