The Top Plate Ø 180 is a crucial component in the MI-FLEX family of installation fittings. Expertly designed to work seamlessly with MI-FLEX 316L and 904 flexible flue liners, this top plate forms part of a complete chimney system. Essential for supporting the vertical weight of the flue liner, the plate measures 400mm square and should be used in conjunction with the Top Clamp and Top Insert Sleeve for optimal performance.
The top plate is suitable for various fuel types, including wood with less than 20% moisture, smokeless coal, gas, and oil, and can withstand temperatures up to 600°C (T600 designation). Building Regulations Document J mandates the full enclosure of flexible flue liners within a masonry chimney, ensuring compliance and safety. Maintenance is straightforward, although care should be taken to have the chimney swept by a competent person, preferably a HETAS registered sweep, twice yearly for solid fuel applications.
