The Gather Hood (400x300) - Ø 300 is a vital component in the installation of MI-FLEX 316 and 904 flexible flue liners. Designed to fit seamlessly in chimney systems, this gather hood aids in the efficient escape of flue gases from an open fireplace, directing them up the chimney liner. Building Regulations Document J mandates that flexible flue liners be fully enclosed inside a masonry chimney, ensuring safety and compliance.
Ideal for appliances operating up to 600°C (T600 designation), it's perfect for wood with less than 20% moisture, smokeless coal, gas, and oil. Secure connections are crucial; use fire cement, ceramic rope, tape, or high-temperature sealant for a gas-tight seal. Ensure your chimney system is designed for easy cleaning and maintenance by a competent person.
Regular maintenance, including sweeping by HETAS registered professionals, is recommended, especially for solid fuel appliances, to prevent blockages and deposits.
