Before installation, inspect and confirm that the chimney pot is undamaged and compatible with your flue system and fire type. Thoroughly check the chimney stack for structural integrity, repairing any cracks or defective mortar. Ensure the flue lining is in excellent condition and free from debris for smooth passage of gases. Install a damp-proof course below the top layer of brickwork, and use insulating materials, such as lightweight vermiculite cement, to fill the space between the flue liner and chimney stack. Always maintain a flat top on the chimney stack.
